The FDNY 2008 Calendar of Heroes was released Tuesday. The 13 "pin-ups" autographed copies of the calendar. The firefighters who posed say even though their fellow firefighters crack jokes, they know it's for a good cause.
"It makes a lot of money for things that the Fire Department needs – the FDNY, you know training, equipment,” said cover model Michael Biserta. “And also, it helps the public in that it teaches about fire safety and education, and that's very important because that helps you know prevent fires, which is ultimately what we're looking for.”
“They're supportive,” said Mr. July Rob Cefoli. “I mean you know they have their jokes, but it's for a great cause. You know it helps to raise money so that's why we're doing it."
